PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Track & Field will compete in its final meet before the LSC Conference Championships at the Texas Tech Shoot Out hosted by Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas. The meet will take place at the Sports Performance Center on the campus of Texas Tech.

This will be the Greyhound final tune up before competing at the 2022 LSC Indoor Track & Field Championship. The championships will be held at the Sports Performance Center at Texas Tech on Feb. 26-27, the Hounds will be competing against fellow LSC schools.
In its last meet, several Greyhounds set personal best and a few student-athletes set program marks at the UNM Team Open on Jan. 29 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Arianna Hayde set headlines with a program record in the triple jump after a leap of 11.60m (38' 0.75"). Hayde's jump broke the mark that was set in 2014 by Kris-Ann Walters. Hayde also turned in a solid performance in the long jump, finishing with a distance of 5.35m (17' 6.75") placing 20th, and 3
rd in the ENMU record books.
Devis Cheruiyot and
Japhet Toroitich finished in the top five for program history in the 800-meter run. Cheruiyot clocked a time of 1:56.42 landing second in the record books, and Toroitch finished with a time of 1:56.42 placed third in program history.
In addition to the program marks,
Malia Sanchez hit personal best in the 60-meter dash (8.15 seconds) and 200-meter dash (27.57 seconds), while
Mohamed Megeno posted career marks in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, with times of 7.25 and 23.06, respectively.Â

Lethabo Seema set a personal record in in the mile with a time of 5:22.76 and
Dorcas Kosgei broke a personal best time of 11:16.8 in the 3000, at the UNM Team Open.
