PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico softball hits the road for the final time this season in a pair of Lone Star Conference doubleheaders. First, the Hounds will play in-state and conference rival Western New Mexico University, beginning at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 22. Then, ENMU will face off against UT Permian Basin on Saturday, Apr. 24, with first pitch set for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Greyhounds recently took a pair of games from non-conference foe New Mexico Highlands University. In game one, the Greyhounds used three runs in the fifth inning to hold off the Cowgirls 4-1. In the game after, Eastern cruised to a 10-6 victory, highlighted with a
Sierra Wooley grand slam in the sixth inning.
SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
With five wins in its last six games, Eastern have a 15-27 standing overall, and a LSC record of 6-18. The Hounds offense are producing a batting average of .233, scoring 152 runs with 228 hits. Additionally, ENMU have a .327 on base percentage, with 132 RBIs and 319 total bases. The pitching staff supplies a 5.76 ERA, striking out 230 hitters and allowing 247 runs.

Lisette Urquidez is the top hitter in the Hounds lineup, holding a BA of .330, 38 hits, 36 RBIs, and scoring 22 runs (leads the team).
Azalea Martinez bats .305 on the season with 32 hits and a team best .408 on base percentage.
Brook Leger and Wooley post the nets best batting averages, .290 and .276, respectively. Wooley is second on the team for RBIs (16).

Western New Mexico University
The Mustangs return to the field for the first time in two weeks, currently posting a 5-33 record on the season and 2-22 in LSC play. In its last games, WNMU were handed two losses from Cameron University, 14-2 and 5-2, and Oklahoma Christian, 1-3 and 0-13.

At the dish, Western New Mexico has a batting average of .268, plating 141 runs on 257 hits. The lineup has an on-base percentage of .327 and bringing in 128 RBIs. In the circle, WNMU have a team ERA of 12.05 and have struck out 96 batters on the season.

In its last weekend of action, the Falcons were sweep by Oklahoma Christian, 0-9 and 1-2, and Cameron, 3-17 and 3-4.
