RICHARDSON, Texas – Two track and field student-athletes received all-conference nods for their performances at the 2023 Lone Star Conference indoor track and field championships.

Tamia Smith is a first-team honoree after winning the shot put event throwing 13.69m (44' 11"). Smith also earned two team points for a seventh-place toss in the weight throw. She finished with a mark of 12.24m (40' 2").

The junior sprinter took seventh in the 60m race with a time of 6.89 seconds giving him enough points during the championships (8) to earn second-team honors.

"These two have high expectations for themselves and work hard at perfecting their craft and working to meet those expectations," said head coach Joshua Harden after hearing the news Friday morning. "I am happy for what they were able to accomplish this indoor season and expect a lot more from them as we go into the outdoor season."
