LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the 2022-23 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors Tuesday afternoon. The minimum cumulative grade point average for consideration was a 3.50.
Seven Greyhounds earned the accolade for their success in the classroom.
The honorees for Eastern include:

Ashley Nickerson,
Jokaira Paredes,Â
Mackenzie Shaw, and
Taighen Whitzel
Galindo, Harrison, and Paredes have each earned the honor for the second consecutive season, while Begaye, Nickerson, Shaw, and Whitzel picked up their first accolade. Earlier this season, Galindo and Harrison both were recognized to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2022-23 Softball Academic All-District Team.
Among all athletic teams at ENMU, the softball program earned the second highest total GPA with a 3.41 spring 2023 average.
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the NFCA's membership categories.
