PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Softball embarks on their final road trip of the regular season, making the long journey to Kingsville, Texas to take on the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville. The series begins on Friday, April 19, with a doubleheader slated to begin at 2 p.m. (MST) and 4 p.m. (MST). Both teams wrap up the series on Saturday, April 20, with the finale scheduled to start at 11 a.m. (MST).

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDSÂ
The Greyhounds (23-21, 16-20 LSC) head to Texas after claiming two games against Oklahoma Christian during their last series. The series opener featured a walk-off single from
Skylar Hardin, giving the Greyhounds a 2-1 victory.
Jordan Rivera tossed a complete game in the circle, giving up just two hits and one run (unearned). After the Eagles evened the series with a 4-3 victory in game two, Eastern grabbed the series finale 8-0 (5 Inn.) ENMU scored eight runs in the 2
nd Inn., thanks to a
Taighen Whitzel grand slam home run, and a 2-RBI single from
Ashley Burns.
Marissa Rodriguez allowed just four base runners over five innings during the run-rule win.
ENMU are currently as one of the top hitting teams in the conference, landing in the top-three for most statistical hitting categories in the LSC: batting average (.315, 3
rd), on-base percentage (.398, 3

Mikenzey Patterson currently leads the Greyhounds with a 12-game hitting streak (48 hits on the season), batting .401 on the season with a team high 35 runs scored. Whitzel supplies a team best batting average of .404, along with leading the team in hits (55), home runs (11), and RBIs (44). Both
Samantha Gutierrez and
Alondra Vasquez have 48 hits this season, with Vasquez tied for the team lead in runs scored (35) and RBIs (44). Rodriguez paces the ENMU pitching staff with a 10-9 record with 10 complete games, a 3.16 ERA, and three shutouts over 113.0 innings. Rivera sits at a 3.82 ERA, with a team low .234 opponent batting average, and a 5-3 record.
SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
Texas A&M-Kingsville (27-20, 20-19 LSC) have secured postseason play, currently standing in 9
th place with only three games left to play. Prior to this weekend, the Javelinas took one game from Texas Woman's during a three-game series. TAMUK dropped a close series opener, 2-1, while winning the second game of the series, 7-1. The Pioneers grabbed the series finale against the Javelinas, winning 1-0.

Texas A&M-Kingsville sport a .282 batting average as a team, with 359 hits, scoring 225 runs, along with 1201 RBIs. TAMUK has accumulated 108 extra base hits, posting 72 doubles, four triples, and 32 home runs. The Javelinas pitching staff has 148 strikeouts, holding a 3.29 ERA. Texas A&M-Kingsville has allowed 173 runs, on 325 hits, with opponents hitting just .264.
Breana Carr paces the Greyhounds for batting average (.377) with 63 hits landing 2
