PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico softball will entertain #22 Oklahoma Christian University and Cameron University this weekend. The Eagles of OC come to Portales on Friday, Apr. 1, with first pitch scheduled for 2 pm., and 4 pm. for game two. Then, Eastern take on Cameron on Sunday, Apr. 3, with the doubleheader starting at 12 pm. The national rankings are based on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll.
LAST TIME OUT
In its last weekend, the Hounds picked up a win over St. Edward's University, 3-2, along with a loss to the Hilltoppers and two defeats against St. Mary's. 
Brook Leger earned the win for the Hounds in the circle, while 
Breanna Loyola supplied the winning pinch hit RBI in the sixth inning.
SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
Overall this season, the Greyhounds have a record of 10-22 with a 3-13 standing in conference play. The Hounds bats sport a .227 batting average, producing 113 runs on 168 hits. Additionally, Eastern post 96 RBIs and an on base percentage of .325. ENMU's pitching staff have an ERA of 6.12, surrendering 191 runs and recording 187 strikeouts.
 
Lisette Urquidez is the standout hitter for the Hounds, leading the team in batting average (.374), hits (34), RBIs (32), with a team high .692 slugging percentage. 
Azalea Martinez is next best with a .280 average with 21 hits and 10 RBIs, and 
Jokaira Paredes posts a .266 BA with 17 hits. Leger holds the top ERA (3.10) for the Greyhounds with a 9-10 record and 138 strikeouts.
 
Leger ranks as one of the top pitchers in the nation for strikeouts. Leger this season has recorded 138 strikeouts, leading all Lone Star Conference pitchers. In the nation, Leger stands in 14
th for total strikeouts. In strikeouts per seven innings, Leger ranks 2
nd in the conference and 27
th in Division II, with a rate of 9.3 strikeouts per seven innings.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
#22 Oklahoma Christian University
The nationally ranked Eagles are on a 10-game winning streak, which is tied for eighth for the longest streak in Division II currently. #22 Oklahoma Christian has a record of 24-8 this season, and a 12-4 conference record. Recently, the Eagles allowed just three runs over the span of four games in a pair of sweeps of Midwestern State and Texas Woman's.
 
On the season, the Eagles have a batting average of .340, scoring 197 runs on 301 hits. The OC lineup has driven in 170 RBIs, with an on base percentage of .403, and a slugging percentage of .489. On the rubber, Oklahoma Christian post an ERA of 2.11 (2
nd best in LSC) with a total of 185 strikeouts this season, and an opposing batting average of .214.
 
Leading the Eagles bats, Hannah Page posts 39 hits on the season with Whitney Walde posting a .374 average in 32 games this season. Kylie Janzen leads the team with 25 RBIs, with Aaliyah Brown contributing 23 RBIs. Kali Crandell leads the pitching staff with a 11-6 record with six complete games, with a 1.99 ERA. Grace Anderson is second on the team with 19 appearances and a record of 8-2, and a 2.61 ERA.
 
Cameron University
The Aggies enter the weekend at 19-15 with a conference record of 7-9. Cameron will play #20 West Texas A&M on Friday, Apr. 1, before playing the Eastern on Sunday. Cameron picked up a pair of wins in its last weekend of play, with one win against Texas Woman's and one win against Midwestern State.
 
The team has a collectively batting average of .295, and has scored 179 runs on the season with 266 hits. The Aggies reach base at a .372 clip, with 159 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .466. The pitching staff for Cameron has a 3.63 ERA, with 205 strikeouts, and allowing 156 runs.
 
Breley Weeb is a dual threat for CU, leading the team in batting average at .413 and 43 hits, while holding the best pitching record on the team at 8-4. Webb has an ERA of 3.32 and has eight complete games. Other contributors include Josie Swafford with a .347 batting average and Kylie French leading the team with 24 RBIs. In the circle, Swafford holds the lowest ERA on the team at 2.85 with a team lead 78 strikeouts.
