Hall of Honors
A faculty member for 24 years (1946-1970) and athletic director for 11 years (1959-1970), Dr. Joe Dickson served as chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation was selected as a Fulbright Scholar in 1951, holding a nine-month visiting lectureship in physical education in Rangoon, Burma. The ENMU Golf team won the NAIA championship under his leadership in 1963 and he was named president of the NAIA Golf Coaches Association in 1965. In 1962 Dr. Dickson was selected for the president’s award for outstanding contribution to the University.
