Carl Efurd competed in football from 1957-59. As a freshman he earned the ENMU Coaches’ Award for hardest Blocker-Tackler. He followed that up by earning the Brasell Award for the team’s Outstanding Player the following season. After an appearance in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1958 he was chosen for the United States Army Outstanding Lineman Award in 1959. Efurd was part of the undefeated Greyhound team (9-0-2) in 1957. Efurd was a Small College All-American.
