Anthony Pertile played free safety for Eastern New Mexico from 1987-90. The Midland, Texas native was a three-time Lone Star Conference defensive back of the year and earned all-american honors in 1990. Over his career, he totaled 266 tackles, 34 pass deflections, and 15 interceptions. The program went 24-16 during his four seasons with the Greyhounds, including a 9-2 mark in 1987, which still is tied for the most wins in a single season in program history. The conference named him as a first team selection to the 1980's all-decade team.
