Cale Sanders made an impression in Greyhound football lore that went well beyond his numbers. One of the most decorated players of his era, he was a prolific receiver from 1999-2003 in an offense that was built around running the ball. A First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection in 2001, he ranked seventh in the league in receptions per game to go along with 948 yards and six scores. That performance resulted in a Preseason All-America selection in 2002. Sanders also was chosen as the Honorable Mention LSC Offensive Player in 2000. He led the Hounds to three straight Wagon Wheel wins over his career and hauled in four receptions for 82 yards and a score in 2001. Sanders is still ranked in numerous statistical categories at ENMU.
