Dr. Thurman Elder served as Faculty Athletic Representative for 13 years (1991-92 through 2003-04). He was the liaison between the faculty, NCAA, Lone Star Conference and university assuring the welfare of the student athletes. Elder served under four athletic directors. He was chair of the department of mathematical sciences from 1981-97 and a member of ENMU faculty since 1969.
