Sony Wiginton set 15 the-school records as Eastern’s quarterback from 1961-63. Season records included most passes, most completions, most yards passing, and most yards in a single game. His career records included most passes, most completions, and most yards. Wiginton was chosen as ENMU’s Greatest Greyhound in 1963. He was selected to the Small College All-America Football team twice, and was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
