Howard Schwarzenback was a top player for the Greyhound football team in 1934 and 1935 under coach “Tiny” Reed and Jerry Dalrymple. ENMU won a combined 14 games over those two seasons and he scored the program’s first-ever touchdown. In 1935, Schwarzenback made second team all-conference at quarterback. He was a versatile athlete who returned a punt for a score and was a threat to catch or run the ball as well.
