Walter “Cotton” Clark had been a life-long resident of Roosevelt County and part owner of the former Foodtown Grocery Store from 1957-1995. Clark was active in the Portales community and contributed to the students of Eastern New Mexico University through part time and summer employment for students. He displayed strong support to the football and basketball teams by providing refreshments and sponsoring the football banquet for several years.
