Mercy Rotich ran cross country and track and field for Eastern New Mexico from 2016-21. The Eldoret, Kenya native won the south central region cross country championship in 2016 and went on to place sixth at nationals to earn all-american status. Rotich was a four-time Lone Star Conference champion between cross country and track and field during her time as a Greyhound. In 2018, she won the Lone Star Conference cross country championship. During the 2019 indoor track season, Rotich took first in the 3000m and third in the 5000m at the conference championships. In her outdoor campaign in 2019, she placed second in the 5000m and fourth in the 1500m at conference. Rotich won the indoor conference title in the 3000m and 5000m races in 2020 to help the Hounds take fifth overall as a team at the meet.
