Parley “Paddy” Sheya was the starting nose guard for the ENMU football team from 1974-77. He was a team captain for two seasons and was selected as Eastern’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1975. Sheya ranked in the NAIA’s top-ten tacklers in 1975 and was one of the association’s top tacklers in 1976. He was the strongest player on the team and bench pressed over 400 pounds and squatted over 800 lbs.
